The Summer 2011 jewellery collection from Loumina is a uniquely intimate expression of our connections to the world around us.

Designer Louise Pilkington has drawn inspiration from family heirlooms, nature, and her own desire to constantly create, innovate and reimagine herself.

“Everybody likes to adorn themselves with beautiful pieces, especially ones that have a deeply personal resonance,” she says. “I look at my new bamboo cuff and grapes pendant, for example, and am reminded of my grandmother. Edna had the most eclectic jewellery that she layered on all at once: diamonds with plastic, gold with bakelite.

There were no boundaries. This is the way Loumina should be worn.”

Mix male and female, flowers and feathers, bulls and snakes, stars and crosses, gold and silver and brass and crystals. Experiment, adapt and customise with different colourways, combinations and lengths.

“Whether it’s an outrageous gemstone or a simple brass pendant,” says Louise, “both will be precious mementos to treasure forever. Price never reflects the value we place on something given, and received, with love.”
